| Chester G. "Chet" Hamm
Age 79, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Wilm., DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. Chet was an Instrumentation Specialists for the DuPont Co., mainly in Newport, for 36 years, retiring in 1985. He served in the US Navy from 1945 until 1946. Chet was a Mason and Past Master (1977-1978) of the Ionic Lodge # 31. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1578 in New Castle. Chet enjoyed boating and fishing. Chet is survived by his wife of 37 years, Doris M. Hamm, children, Linda Martin of Wilm. DE; Jennifer Messimer of Warwick, MD; and Larry Hamm of Wilm. DE; step children Michael West of Modesta, CA; David West of Quakertown, PA; and Sharon Sullivan of Newtown, PA; sisters Charlotte McCool of Elkton, MD; and Mary Baer of Christiana, DE; brothers Howard Hamm of Smyrna, DE; and Ronald Hamm of Newport, DE; 3 grandchildren, and 8 step grandchildren. Masonic Services will be 10:45 am on Tuesday, January 9, at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE, where funeral services will begin at 11 am. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home from 7 - 9 pm on Monday, January 7. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave & DuPont Rd, Wilm., DE. The family suggests contributions in Chet's memory to either the American Parkinson Disease Association, J.
