Millard F. Hollett, Jr.

Age 86, died on Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Union Hospital.

Millard, a native of Wilmington, was born to the late Millard, Sr. & Emma Hollett. He served our country in the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII and participated in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge.

Millard worked for the Du Pont Company as an engineer, and in his free time was active in many different organizations.

He was a deacon and church elder at First & Central Presbyterian Church as well as a 50 year member of the Granite-Corinthian Lodge #34 AF & AM, where he served as the Past Master, Demolay, and Consistory. He also had memberships in the Scottish Rite, Daylight Lodge #10 of Wilmington, and the VFW Post 8175, in Newark.

Mr. Hollett is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeannette; his children, Millard Hollett, III., of Wilmington, William Hollett, of California, and Robert Hollett, and his wife Lorraine, of Wilmington; and grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Hollett, and her fiancé, Daniel Pratola, of Wilmington, and Stacey Bishop and her husband, of Colorado.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 2, 2007, at 12 noon, at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202, S. of Silverside Rd.) Wilmington, DE 19803, where friends are invited to call at 11 am. A Masonic service will take place at 11:45 am. Interment will follow at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Millard's name to First & Central Presbyterian Church, 1101 N. Market St., Wilmington, DE 19801; or the Granite-Corinthian Masonic Lodge, PO Box 7036, Wilmington, DE 19803.
